<p>1. Fresh and enticing &#8211; Making sure it is fresh and enticing is the first thing you need to do with every article you write. The internet is filled with monotonous and repetitive content. Too may people think they can just re-write articles in their own words and get away with it. You are going to get the best results with content while it will also give you fresh content to produce. This is where it pays off to be creative.</p>
<p>2. Title &#8211; The title is the first thing people are going to see. You want to lure them in with a title that is basic, straightforward, and appealing. Try not to be too cute with your article title as this can easily confuse people with what the article is even about.</p>
<p>3. Keyword density &#8211; Something that many people struggle with in their article writing is keyword density. You should try to focus on a keyword or two in every article, but try not to overdo it. This is going to be considered keyword spamming<br />
if your keyword is mentioned in every sentence. You may want to include your keyword instead once or twice in the opening and closing paragraphs and then use them sparingly throughout the body.</p>

Instead, try to make each paragraph no more than four or five sentences long. The easier your articles will be to read if the paragraphs are shorter.</p>
<p>5. Resource box &#8211; The last feature you want to include with your article is a resource box. Within your resource box you will include your name, your web site or business&#039;s name, one or two sentences on the business, and a link to whatever page you want people to go to. This is exactly how article writing becomes a terrific marketing technique.</p>

<p> When you do article marketing, you&#039;re writing articles on the general topic of your website, and then submitting the articles to article directories and other online publishers.</p>
<p> When website owners need content they will look at article directories and select articles that they&#039;d like to re-publish on their website. Each time your article is picked up for re-publication, your resource box (including a link back to your website) is also published.</p>
<p> So, as more and more publishers pick up your article, you build more and more links.</p>
<p> Pretty much every person who&#039;s doing article marketing knows the power of building links and also that the links contribute to an elevated search engine ranking, but a question that I get repeatedly is this:</p>
<p> &#034;What would be the benefit of having my article published on smaller websites? I mean, those websites don&#039;t have authority in Google&#039;s eyes&#8211;why bother with them?&#034;</p>
<p> I would answer that there is definitely benefit to having your article published on websites of all sizes&#8211;big, medium and small websites.</p>
<p> The big websites are the ones that attract the most attention&#8211;everyone wants a link from a website that is seen as an authority in Google&#039;s eyes. But there are a few reasons why you should solicit publication on lesser known websites too:</p>
<p> 1) Yes, one way that article marketing builds traffic is by increasing your search engine ranking for your keyword terms, but don&#039;t forget that traffic is also driven to a website through your articles themselves.</p>
<p> For example, a potential customer might find your website in one of the following ways:</p>
<p> *By doing a Google search for your keyword terms, and then finding your article or your website listed in the results.</p>
<p> *By stumbling across your article and then clicking the link in your resource box that leads to your website.</p>
<p> The first way is indirect traffic&#8211;a potential customer has to do a search for your keyword terms, and then your article or your website appears high up in the search engine rankings.</p>
<p> The second way is direct traffic&#8211;the person visits a favorite directory or otherwise stumbles upon your article, and then just clicks from your article through to your website.</p>
<p> A link from the bigger websites will aid your cause if you&#039;re trying to rise up in the search engine rankings. A link from an authority site can help boost Google&#039;s estimation of your article and in turn help your website jump up in the rankings.</p>
<p> But a link from any size website (even small ones) can help you build direct traffic. Direct traffic is independent of Google and search engine rankings&#8211;if a reader happens to see your article on a website, they can go directly to your website from your resource box.</p>
<p> For this reason, it is a good idea to have your article published on as many sites as possible. The more website&#039;s that pick up your article for publication, the more opportunities for your potential customers to see your article (and then click through to your website).</p>
<p> 2) Imagine this&#8211;even a newbie website that has only 50 visitors a day creates 50 chances for your article to come before the eyes of potential customers.</p>
<p> Would you turn down the opportunity to speak to 50 potential customers if you had the chance?</p>
<p> I think not.</p>
<p> Then why pass up the opportunity to have your article published on as many websites as possible&#8211;small, medium and mega-sized sites?</p>
<p> 3) What is a small site today is not necessarily a small site tomorrow.</p>
<p> Websites grow and change in their authority and ranking (thankfully!). Instead of discarding the idea of getting a link from a lesser known site, why not go for that link now, when the site is still in its infancy, and then ride the escalator up with their increasing success?</p>
<p> There is merit to receiving backlinks from online publishers regardless of size. Yes, the mega size sites offer more benefits, but that doesn&#039;t mean that links from other sites are worthless.</p>
<p> If you think about it, it&#039;s kind of like comparing mega bookstores with independent bookstores&#8211;this is Amazon vs The Corner Bookstore. When an author has a book that she wants people to buy, she will make certain that her book is available on Amazon, but she will also take an interest in the smaller bookstores.</p>
<p> As an article marketer, your article is your book, and it&#039;s your job to market it. Don&#039;t you want it appearing in as many &#034;bookstores&#034; as possible?</p>

<p> Each article should have a beginning, a middle and an end. Aim to write 2-3 sentences per paragraph and perhaps 4-6 paragraphs. Any longer and there&#039;s a danger that your readers will stop reading before they reach your bio at the end.</p>
<p> Keep it relevant to the subject and the keyword phrase that you&#039;re using the article to target. Write what you imagine people would want to read when they type in that keyword.</p>
<p> Use short, punchy sentences.</p>

<p> This is where you get to promote your website. This is your payment for allowing other websites to publish your article(s). Your bio should contain brief information about who you are, your work and the site that you&#039;re promoting.</p>
<p> But don&#039;t just write one bio and use it for every article that you promote. Write a selection of 10-12 short bios like the one at the end of this article. Make sure each bio is worded differently, uses different linking text and sounds tempting enough to make people click through to see your site.</p>
<p> There are two reasons for using a range of different bios</p>
<p> a) People who read a few of your articles on different websites may eventually become &#034;blind&#034; to your bio. After reading a number of your articles they won&#039;t see the bio because it&#039;s always the same. So provide something different to capture their attention every time.</p>
<p> b) Search engines don&#039;t rank incoming links as highly if they always contain the same anchor text and are always surrounded by the same words.</p>
<p> It might seem like a lot of work to generate 12 different bios, but I can assure you that in the long run the extra effort will be well worth it. </p>
<p> Follow these basic rules and before long your website will start to grow in popularity and you will become recognised as an expert on your chosen subject.</p>

<p> 1. Writing Articles is an Extremely Effective Way to Build Your List of Potential Customers and Clients.</p>
<p> When I first started my business, I was so worried about how to build the website and what web designer to hire&#8230;I had no clue about how I was going to get clients. In fact, I was under the impression that &#034;if I built it&#8211; they would come&#034;. (LOL!)</p>
<p> Okay so that didn&#039;t happen.</p>
<p> So the second time around, I spent a few more thousand dollars for a couple of &#034;guru&#039;s&#034; to tell me what I needed to know, which was to concentrate on one thing this time &#8211; building my list. It is the first thing you need to consider when growing your business.</p>
<p> So the one strategy that was easiest and cheapest for me to start with was writing articles.</p>
<p> After I submitted my first article to a few select sites, my list began to grow steadily and still does to this day.</p>
<p> And remember that the very first article I ever published on the web, is still up there sending me lots of lovely and qualified prospects to my site everyday.</p>

What is article marketing? Well I like to split it up into two categories to make more sense of it. There&#039;s one kind of article marketing that&#039;s primarily created for direct traffic and there&#039;s a second kind that&#039;s done primarily for the links back This second kind of article marketing is a part of what is called Search Engine Optimization or SEO.</p>
<p> I think it&#039;s quite clear why you want traffic back to your website from articles and to anyone who knows SEO it&#039;s just as clear why you want links to your website as well. But I&#039;d like to expand upon this second point for anyone who is not entirely clear on it.</p>
<p> If you want your website to rank high in Google (and in the other search engines) then you will need to have a lot of &#034;backlinks&#034; to your website from a lot of different domains.</p>
<p> That&#039;s why you want to use an article marketing service which allows you to &#034;spin&#034; your articles and to submit them to a large number of sites at once. These article submission services are not free but they are worth some cost because they will allow you to greatly &#034;leverage&#034; the time you spend with your article marketing.</p>
<p> Yes you could &#034;spin&#034; your articles yourself (that is create many variations on one article) and you could submit all of those different articles to hundreds of sites all on your own but that would probably take you many weeks (possibly even months!) You can do the same thing using a top article submission service in less than an hour. It shouldn&#039;t be too hard to see why such a service is worth a significant amount of money if you want to get links back to your site.</p>
<p> You definitely want links back to your site if you want it to have any chance of ranking high in Google. That&#039;s how Google ranks sites. Based on how many links (and the quality of the links) which head back to your site.</p>
<p> That&#039;s why you want to write high quality informative articles which will be published on as many sites as possible and of course which contain a link back to your site in the resource box.</p>
<p> It&#039;s a very good idea to write articles on the same subject that your website is about.</p>
<p> It makes no sense to write article about how to make Indian food if your website is about Nascar. Or to write articles about playing guitar if your website is about fishing. There should definitely be some relationship between your articles and your website that the articles link back to.</p>
<p> This is for two reasons: You want any direct traffic you get (that&#039;s traffic direct from the articles you are writing) to be targeted. People who read an article on how to play the guitar are not going to want to go to a website about fishing, but they are quite likely to click on a link to a website about guitars. The second reason is for SEO purpose. There&#039;s a lot of evidence to suggest that Google takes into account the topic of the pages where links come from. In short: It&#039;s better to have links back from related pages than from unrelated pages.</p>

What is article marketing? Well I like to split it up into two categories to make more sense of it. <p> That&#039;s why you want to write high quality informative articles which will be published on as many sites as possible and of course which contain a link back to your site in the resource box.</p>
<p> It&#039;s a very good idea to write articles on the same subject that your website is about.</p>
<p> It makes no sense to write article about how to make Indian food if your website is about Nascar. Or to write articles about playing guitar if your website is about fishing. There should definitely be some relationship between your articles and your website that the articles link back to.</p>
<p> This is for two reasons: You want any direct traffic you get (that&#039;s traffic direct from the articles you are writing) to be targeted. People who read an article on how to play the guitar are not going to want to go to a website about fishing, but they are quite likely to click on a link to a website about guitars. The second reason is for SEO purpose. There&#039;s a lot of evidence to suggest that Google takes into account the topic of the pages where links come from. In short: It&#039;s better to have links back from related pages than from unrelated pages.</p>

<p> As experts, we can sometimes forget that most of our customers are in the &#034;beginner&#034; category.</p>
<p> If you can tap into the mindset of a person new to your niche, then you have unlocked a treasure chest of article ideas. After all&#8211;who needs more information than a beginner?</p>
<p> Beginners need to know everything&#8211;they may even need an article explaining what your niche is and why they should be interested in it.</p>
<p> Here are some other perks for writing for newbies:</p>
<p> *Articles on basic principles are often the easiest to write. In beginner level articles you&#039;re relaying ideas that you know backwards and forwards, so you don&#039;t really need to rack your brain to get the ideas down on the page.</p>
<p> *Articles geared toward beginners have the added bonus of increasing your target market&#8211;if you can peak the interest of someone who is vaguely interested in your topic, you can ignite a flame of interest in them.</p>
<p> Remember, everyone has to start somewhere&#8211;your target customers don&#039;t just naturally know everything there is to know about your field. Many times they need you to hold their hand and walk them through the front door into your niche.</p>

Also, ideas that aren&#039;t strong enough to stand on their own may still have a place in one of your articles.</p>
<p> 3) What keywords are my potential customers typing into Google to reach sites like mine?</p>
<p> You can discover this type of info by using a keyword suggestion tool such as WordTracker. Use the keywords you come up with as idea ideas by writing an article around each keyword.</p>
<p> Doing a brainstorming session for article ideas really help you write more efficiently.</p>
